A New Challenge - Three - Dimensional Seismic Survey

Since Mubarraz Field is composed of domal anticlines with very few undulations, the existing two-dimensional (2D) seismic data was insufficient in investigating a detailed geological structure with regard to the quality. Therefore, a state of the art three-dimensional (3D) seismic survey capable of providing a detailed structural image was conducted in 2003. The survey was designed to deploy ocean bottom cables in the seabed with orthogonal shooting. The acquired data enabled us to obtain a clear structural image of the Mubarraz Field. The results will be used for determining effective well location and will contribute to optimum production in the future.
